Mock Interviews

By offering just a few hours a year as a volunteer interviewer you will help to ensure that we can give every student in a Croydon school or college a mock interview.

The CEBP Mock Interview programme gives students the chance to practise interview techniques in a formal setting before being faced with the real thing.

What is a Mock Interview?
A Mock Interview session will last from half to a full day, depending on the number of students. Each student will receive a one-to-one interview with a volunteer from the business sector, lasting a total of half an hour (20 minutes for the interview, and 10 minutes for feedback).

Why take part in Mock Interviews?
It’s a great way to instil the fundamentals of good interview technique in young people. It gives you a chance to raise awareness of your business in local schools. And it’s excellent practice for your staff in this vital business skill.

What is your role?
As a business volunteer, your role at a Mock Interview is to:

  • Conduct the interview as you would in a real life situation
  • Offer feedback, including praise and constructive criticism where it is appropriate, in order to improve the student's interview skills
