Bizzy Partners
Bizzy Partners offers a chance for business volunteers to work directly with individual pupils in primary schools to help their development in areas such as numeracy, literacy and IT. It also offers the chance to apply a business perspective to teaching and mentoring.
The initiative is designed to improve pupils’ skills and link business with academic subjects. Just one or two hours of your time will help a Croydon pupil fulfil his or her potential.
Many local businesses or branches of national or international companies are paired with Croydon schools. Linking up with a school near you is a great chance to help the pupils and raise local awareness of your business – it may start a mutually beneficial relationship.
As a volunteer Bizzy Partner, your role is to:
- Aid the pupil's studies and understanding of numeracy, literacy or IT through guidance, games or demonstrations
- Act as a role model for a young person
- Bring the world of work into the classroom
