Professional Development
Business volunteers are not the only people who can bring work-related experience to the classroom: CEBP's professional development schemes offer teachers the chance to spend a day at a company and gain a unique insight into running a business.
In the course of one day, a teacher will work with a company to achieve a set of pre-arranged objectives. This is followed up by a short self-evaluation of the experience.
Teachers who have taken part in the scheme have been impressed with the knowledge and understanding they have acquired.
Professional placements offer teachers several benefits, such as:
- Enhance their knowledge of current business practice and likely future trends
- Transferring their acquired business knowledge to students to aid with their work-related learning
- Gaining valuable business links
- Developing additional leadership and management skills
