MicroSociety

MicroSociety is an initiative for 9-10 year olds. In just 12 weeks  pupils are able to create and run a mini society within the classroom, focusing on citizenship and entrepeneurship. Pupils elect their own leaders, design their own currency and trade with each other their businesses succeed.

MicroSociety is a favourite among younger pupils, giving them the chance to work among themselves and develop their own ideas of organisation. It's great fun and it's paticularly beneficial to younger students' understanding of concepts such as:

  • Currency
  • Enterprise
  • Government
  • Profit & loss
  • Supply & demand
  • Inflation & recession
  • Taxation
