Every Child Matters

Every Child Matters was introduced by the Children Act of 2004 and states that every young person in primary and secondary education, whatever their background or circumstances, should have the support they need to:

  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic wellbeing

These five outcomes need to be at the heart of everything a school does and reinforced through every aspect of its curriculum - lessons, events, routines, the learning environment and what children learn out of school.

In supporting the fifth outcome, CEBP provides young people with the opportunities to learn:

  • About the global economy and how businesses work
  • The qualities and skills needed for adult working life
  • How to be enterprising
  • How to manage their own money
