Diplomas are new qualifications for 14-19 year olds, which help prepare them for university or employment. All students study English, maths and ICT in addition to their chosen Diploma subject, completing an extended project, specialist learning options and at least 10 days work experience. Diplomas have been developed by employers so that practical, work-related learning is at the heart of the qualification.
There are currently 17 Diploma subjects available, in 3 levels:
Foundation - equivalent to five GCSEs
Higher - equivalent to seven GCSEs
Advanced - equivalent to three and a half A-Levels
CEBP supports the Diploma by brokering business links, and assisting Croydon students in setting up and participating in work experience placements, which are a key part of the Diploma. CEBP also runs various work-related learning activities, which closely support the learning style for Diplomas.
