CEBP's 2010 Work-related Learning Conference

Thursday, 04 Mar 2010

‘Developing Economic Wellbeing for Young People’ was the theme of CEBP’s 2010 annual Work-related Learning conference held at Croydon’s Aerodrome Hotel. Over 75 delegates attended from schools, colleges, and academies together with representatives from local employers and neighbouring Education Business Partnerships.

Following the welcoming address by Alan Potter, Croydon’s Director Of Education & Learning, the varied programme ensured the conference was a resounding success:

  • Students opened proceedings with case studies about their experiences on placement and highlighted the employability skills they had developed whilst on work experience.

  • Presentations were given by employers from a selection of business sectors covering healthcare, media, hospitality and recruitment.

  • Seminar groups focused on safeguarding case scenarios connected with work experience placements, which provided lively debate and thought-provoking discussions.

With closing comments from Declan Swan, CEO of the Institute of Education Business Excellence, the event finished with a drinks reception and conference dinner.
